The World's First Successful Penis Transplant, Will Be Upgraded To Be A Father

The first successfully transplanted penis works: Patient's girlfriend is pregnant

The world's first successful penis transplant man to the doctor revealed that his girlfriend was pregnant, he will be upgraded to be a father.



According to the British Daily Mail reported, News24 disclosure, participation penis transplant doctors from Stellenbosch University in South Africa today revealed the news in a public speech.

Leading surgical procedure Stellenbosch University urology professor, head of Andre van der Merwe, said the news of pregnancy proved successful penis transplant, organ function.

Led by Dr. Andre van der Merwe of Stellenbosch University in Cape Town, the team of doctors performed the second successful penis transplant in the world, though it was actually the first successful procedure. The 21-year-old South African patient is the first to keep the donated organ following the procedure.

The first patient who received a donated penis later asked that it be removed, after suffering severe psychological issues following the procedure.




Merwe’s team pronounced the surgery a success only in March, saying that the man has regained his “urinary and reproductive functions.” His girlfriend apparently got pregnant before that, however, which is quite impressive — doctors expected his recovery to take two years.

Penis transplantation is a surgical transplant procedure in which a penis is transplanted to a patient. The penis may be an allograft from a human donor, or it may be grown artificially, though the latter has not yet been transplanted onto a human. Peripheral transplant procedures such as hand, face, or penis transplant surgery are controversial because they are not necessary to ensure the life of the patient. They may, however, significantly improve the patient's quality of life.
